Popular Culture

Mondays 5 pm - 6 pm

 

This course analyzes the role and significance of popular culture, illustrating a detailed background for students to learn about the historical and social importance of popular culture today.  The topics in class will explore the influence of pop culture on social trends, the uses of celebrities, the role and power of the audience, and the effects that new media and technology have on shaping trends.  Students will work together to discuss and analyze print, games, websites, advertisements, and films as examples of the things that are shaping our pop culture in present day.

 

 

 

Note: This course will use a mix of voice and text and requires students to be able to hear, along with having a basic level of RP/Emote skill.
