This course provides a total beginner level introduction in Korean language study that offers an approachable and engaging way to learn. It introduces the Korean sound system, basic greetings as well as a number of basic Korean structures and vocabulary expressed in Hangeul that are essential to basic communication in Korean.
Students will master the korean alphabet, understand proper pronunciation techniques and learn new vocab along with basic common phrases. Games, excercises and study tools will be used to help reinforce the material taught in class. The topics covered in the course include a background on the history of Korean language, learning the Korean alphabet known as Hangeul, introductions and greetings, basic vocabulary such as colors, animals and food items.
Note:The class will predominantly be taught on voice, so being able to hear SL voice is required (students will never be asked to speak on voice, but will have the ability to do so to check pronunciation if they wish to do so.)
